Citrus are a very difficult crop to cover due to considerable foliage thickness, typical of these trees. In this specific case, the foliages sizes were 3,5 mt. thick and about 6 mt.high.
The conventional distribution equipment are not effective enough in these difficult conditions. CIMA designed and developped an alternative solution to guarantee both a high penetration and an excellent coverage
A new special distribution sprayhead was realized to be combined to the trailed sprayers model BLITZ55 to cover citrus. This sprayhead ensures a targeted and homogeneous spray distribution on the vegetation and an efficient crop coverage. The sprayhead can be directed to one side only of the row when high quantity of chemicals ( l/ha) are needed, or in case of trees with extensive foliage thickness.
Afterwards the equipment is in use with excellent results also on other types of crops such as macadamia, mango and avocado.
